Whole Food Plant-Exclusive

With Dr. Thomas M. Campbell II coauthor of The China Study

Are you curious about and interested in learning more about the benefits of a whole food plant-based/plant exclusive lifestyle and how you can easily incorporate new and healthy shifts immediately? Are you looking for guidance on where to begin implementing healthier habits -especially whole food plant-based choices into your lifestyle?

What an honor it was to meet Dr. Thomas M. Campbell II. He co-authored the amazing book, The China Study with his father, the incredible Dr. T. Colin Campbell. I met him that evening in 2020 at my undergraduate alma mater, Nazareth College in Rochester, New York. Their research completely changed how I choose my foods for optimal health. When my father was diagnosed with Stage IV Esophageal cancer in 2009, I discovered their book. I had already been vegetarian for 21 years back in 2009, but for some reason had not yet made the connection to also remove dairy products and it was an excellent choice for me and the cows as well 🙂 While I know this plant exclusive lifestyle certainly helped my father after he was diagnosed, I only wish I was aware of it sooner before he was Stage IV. I also believe it could have greatly benefited my mother who had Multiple Sclerosis. If you are considering learning more about the benefits of a whole food plant-based or plant-exclusive lifestyle or your doctor or health practitioner has suggested you do so, I love helping clients get started, reduce the overwhelm and confusion, and empower you to create the health and joyful life you envision. With My Mom and Dad in 1998

Are you currently a caregiver? Are you a teen or young adult caregiver for a parent? Are you now in your 40s or 50s trying to rebuild your own life after caring for a parent when you were younger? Are you overwhelmed with the emotional and physical toll caregiving is taking or has taken on your own health? Are you concerned about genetic vulnerabilities you may have due to a particular chronic disease in your family and wonder if there is anything you can do to protect yourself? Are you interested in learning how to make small and easy shifts that can immediately optimize your own health and well-being as well as the health and well-being of your loved ones you are caring for?

While I work with anyone interested in taking better care of their overall health, in particular those interested in incorporating more plant-based foods into their lifestyle, I also specialize in working with caregivers of all ages – especially young caregivers and those who are now in their forties and fifties trying to rebuild their lives after they provided caregiving in their teens, twenties and thirties.
My own caregiving began when I was 16 years old and ended when I was 43. My mother had a primary progressive form of Multiple Sclerosis and my father had Diabetes and Stage IV Esophageal cancer. Caregiving became my life for almost 30 years. I learned so much during those decades and have made it my mission to help others also on their own caregiving journey.
There are many resources available to caregivers these days which is wonderful and one area I saw an additional need was in self-care for the caregiver. This includes talking with someone who has been there and understands the overwhelming situation caregivers face in all aspects of their own health. I also learned so much from researching the diseases my parents suffered from: the autoimmune disease Multiple Sclerosis, Diabetes and cancer. I love sharing what I learned from the highly respected and well-researched whole food plant-based doctors. I love sharing the habits that best served me during my caregiving years – and beyond – as well as the many lessons I learned regarding what I would have done differently.

My Hope for You As Your Holistic Health and Wellness Coach

Do you feel as if you struggle to find joy in your life? Do you feel as if you are growing apart from your true self – your hopes, dreams and plans? Are you a sensitive soul and empath who feels the pain (and joy) of others? Do you find you often tend to put others’ needs and wants before your own?

Sometimes the most empathetic and sensitive people are those who tend to become the caregivers to everyone in their lives. These sensitive types are also joy seekers that can also be easily depleted of energy and joy by the demands and responsibilities that are often put upon them (and that they step up to and take on) as well as the sometimes not-so-joyful behaviors of others in their lives. My hope for you is that through creating a safe and sacred space for you during our coaching, we can together discover and create ways for you to maintain your innate tendency toward joy no matter what your circumstances are or were. We also co-create a plan to support your physical health and emotional well-being through increasing your intake of healthy, life-giving foods and creating an environment that sets you up for success when implementing your new health focused habits in many different (but all connected) areas of your life such as your physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, social and financial well-being.
